On Saturday morning I met with my Team in Training group! I had emailed them back and forth but hadn’t met anyone in person yet. We had our first meeting on Saturday morning at The Athlete’s House in Nashville and then went out for a short run before meeting at Bongo Java across the street.
I am participating in an Olympic Distance Triathlon in Knoxville in May. I am going to be working with this team who will help support, motivate and coach me through my training. I am really looking forward to this new challenge of completing the longest triathlon I’ve ever done. The distances are as follows:
Swim 0.9 miles
Bike 32 miles
Run 6.2 miles
I’ll share more about the triathlon as training really starts up. For now we are easing into it.
After the running and mingling on Saturday morning, I had a little bit of time before I had to work. I worked for a few hours and then met up with some friends for the evening. We went to Yazoo Brewery in Nashville and then to dinner. For dinner I met at Local Taco in East Nashville with some friends. I had tacos with chicken strips, honey lime mayo, lettuce and tomato. I asked for corn on the side but was too full to eat more than a few bites, even though it was delicious.
After dinner, four of us went to see our friend Bridgette Tatum sing at The Listening Room. Thanks to the food we shouldn’t have eaten, we headed home after just a few songs. I am not used to eating that much, or that type of food. I was uncomfortable for hours….
Overall it was a really good day and a nice Saturday until dinner time. 🙂
